Course Description:

This course provides an overview of journalism in the modern era, including a look at the tools of the trade and the role of law and ethics in journalism, as well as the skills required to be a journalist and how they can be used in a variety of careers and contexts. This course is required for the Communications major and also counts toward the Communications minor.

Student Course Description:

This course helps you become a better journalist and helps you differ your writing skills. This helps you differ you’re writing skills by showing how to write as if you were a journalist and not writing in say an english class. This class helps you understand that deadlines do matter in the journalism field and that you must stick to them.
