BLOG-PROJ
Week 1: For my blog proj I will be covering the car and truck brand chevrolet. In a recent post they added to instagram was a showing of what their pickup trucks are capable of and the off road ability they have. In the comments of this post many people have commented on how beautiful the brand new trucks look. One user commented “My truck is in the shop only after 5k miles! Joy!” Chevrolet was very quick to respond to this comment to a seemingly unhappy customer about how they wanted the customer to reach out to them via personal message and they would try to help with a better experience. Another user commented how chevrolet trucks are the best brand of trucks he has owned and he is excited to keep a future with them.
Week 2: In week 2 of following chevrolet I found 2 post that really stood out to me. They are showing a new model of their tahoe suv. many comments on this post commented about how beautiful this suv is and how it would be something to stare at. But there were also negative comments about how this suv will be broken down after a few thousand miles like their older model suv’s have done in the past. A second post I saw was chevrolet showing off what one of there gas model trucks is capable of with it’s off road package. There was 202 comments on this post and there was both positive but many negative comments as well. Some of the positive comments consisted of how people have had great experiences with the truck and how they love driving it. Some of the negative comments consisted of how this truck is overpriced and how it breaks down to easily and that it is not reliable for the price.
Week 3: In week 3 of following chevrolet they showed off their chevy race team and the family they gave a car to from the MLB all star game. The chevy race team shows off how they have speed and how they make their race cars from history with learning newer ways to keep improving the speed. The comments on this post were very positive as they do have a large fan base of their race team. These comments consisted of how much they love watching chevy race every weekend and how good of a race team they are. the second post shows one the family’s that was gifted a car to honor it’s 19 year history with partnering with the MLB. There were many positive comments on this post showing how appreciative people were of chevy donating 2 cars to family’s.
Week 4: In week 4 of following chevrolet they showed off 2 of their trucks and what they are capable of. The first post is showing how chevy trucks are able to be used to put things in the bed such as dirt bikes and the places you can go with your chevy truck. This post did get many negative comments about why you shouldn’t buy the truck. Some of the negative comments consisted of how these trucks are very unreliable and they break down too often for only being a few years old. The second post is chevy showing off a brand new feature to a truck they are releasing and the off road package they are offering with this truck. In this post thier caption says “the truck built to take on what’s next”. This post had many positive comments about how people are excited for this truck and how it is a good truck that is going to compete with it’s competitors models of their off road model trucks.
Week 5: In week 5 of following chevrolet they reposted a picture from April showing off their truck fleet and they posted a truck in the snow getting ready for the upcoming winter season. In the first post that chevy reposted was to show off their truck fleet. This post had many positive comments about how the look of the trucks are top tier to their competitors trucks. This post did get some negative comments about how these trucks are to over priced for the quality of truck it is. The second post shows off how chevy trucks are great for the upcoming winter season. Chevys caption of this post was “Seasons may change, but the versatility of #Silverado remains”. They used this as the caption in my opinion because they are known for their performance in the winter months. This post had many negative comments about how the 4 wheel drive was not as good as chevy advertises and how these trucks do not preform well in the snow.
Week 6: In week 6 of following chevrolet they have lost about 2500 followers on instagram. They posted a post for breast cancer awareness month and a post about their new truck which offers premium features. In the first post they are spreading awareness for breast cancer and telling their followers to help them spread awareness and show support. This post had nothing but positive comments such as how people were happy with chevy showing support to breast cancer. The second post shows off one of chevy’s new trucks and how chevy is bragging about their high country model truck which is their nicest model truck. This post had many positive comments about how this truck is the best truck they have made. This post also did get negative comments about how people were saying all these features the truck offers is not worth it because the leather seats rip to quickly and how some features are not worth the money.
Week 7: In the period of following chevy this week they did not post on any social media platforms including twitter, instagram, and facebook. With chevy not posting they still did manage to gain 345 followers on twitter and another 1250 followers on instagram. With chevy not using their social media platforms this could impact their following status and it could lower by next week.
Week 8: In the time of following chevy this week in the 3 social media platforms they use they only posted one time on their facebook page. This post was just chevy updating their cover photo on facebook to show off different models of pickup trucks they offer. This post received only 424 likes and only 76 comments which is very low numbers compared to their instagram page that gets almost 20 thousand likes on each post. The comments on the facebook page of this post were very positive with people saying how they loved the truck they had and how people should buy one for them selfs.
Week 9: In the time of following chevy this week they unfortunately did not post. They did not post on any social media platforms including twitter, instagram, and facebook. With chevy not posting they still did manage to gain 45 followers on twitter and another 125 followers on instagram. With chevy not using their social media platforms this could impact their following status and it could lower by next week or it could increase again for next week.
Week 10: In the time of following chevy this week they did not post but I was able to come across an advertisement. This advertisement was not posted by chevy directly but was posted as an advertisement to shop at local chevy dealerships. This ad showed off a 2024 chevy silverado and showed off the starting price for this new truck which is $45,295. There were no comments to this advertisement as it was a social media ad. Chevy has gained 337 followers on instagram but did lose 28 on twitter.
