Scripted Story

Scripted Story

In this podcast I was tasked to create a story. In this scripted story I decided to talk about work ethic in todays age and how it has decreased over the years. In this podcast I interviewed a buisnes owner and two college students. During my interviews I was able to get different perspectives based off wage increases. I was also able to talk with a student who basically throws their summer away to work and be able to pay for college himself. I was also able to talk with a college student who does not work in the summer and relies on work study at college for his spending money. getting these perspectives was very interesting and I was able to learn a lot. During this podcast I did struggle to find what worked the best and how to use it. I was able to take bits from each interview and create it into a podcast that was entertaining.

Script:

Intro:

Hello Listeners I am your host Evan Glynos. In today’s podcast we will be talking about work ethic. In this you will hear from 3 people. A business owner and 2 college students. These three people will go over what it’s like from an owner’s perspective as well as what college kids plan to do for work this summer.

Narration:

In the world we live in today wages have increased over the years. This is mainly because of inflation but also to try to motivate people to want to work and make money.

Let’s talk to a business owner who has had to deal with inflation and wage increases and how it can affect his company and the people working for him.

Interview break:

Narration:

After speaking to Tyler we have learned what it is like from a business owner’s point of view with how he is being affected by wage increases and how the work ethic of his employees has declined.

I now want to take you to a student who is in college and what their summer job plans are.

Interview break:

Narration:

After talking with this student at UNE there are people in this generation that have a strong work ethic. But it is hard to come by as it causes busines owners to have to increase wages and provide a healthy work enviorment.

Let’s hear from another college student and what their plans are for the summer.

Interview break:

Narration:

After talking with micheal it has been made clear that he does not have a strong work ethic. By doing workstudy only in college you are only able to bring in $3,000 a semester. Which is a decent amount while being a college student balancing school as well but it is tough because you only get paid biweekly so you do not have any summer money to spend while at school and you are restricted with things you are able to do sometimes.

Outro:

Was not scripted I used information from the podcast.
